Crackers - Naiset (3 - 2)

Unfortunately, our Suomen Cup games were not as successful as we had hoped they would be. We had aimed to reach the second round, but after mixed results from our games this was not to be. We had disappointing results on Saturday, drawing with SB-Pro/A & losing in a close game with FLOB. On Sunday we began with a good win over LoSB & then narrowly lost to Crackers.

Our preparation during the week had not been ideal with many players missing training with injuries & illness, however, we still had a strong team & had hoped to play a better standard of floorball over the whole weekend. After the disappointment of the results on Saturday we put ourselves in a difficult position on Sunday having to win both games, and although our level of play on Sunday was much improved it was unfortunately still not good enough to allow us to continue to the second round.

The way the team played on Sunday was encouraging & I think the players themselves, although unhappy with the result of the weekend, will be pleased with how they played on Sunday. The games have given us a good indication of the work that we need to do before the real floorball season begins, & with so many new players to the team it has given us some important game experience together. As coach, I am also learning all the time, & the Suomen Cup games also gave me the opportunity to gain some experience.

So, overall, a disappointing result in regards of the Suomen Cup, but encouraging signs for the team for the season ahead.
