Naiset - OLS (8 - 3)

SB Vantaa had a great start to the season with two wins from two games against the visiting teams from Oulu.
Our first game was against OLS & the final result was 8-3. OLS gave strong pressure for nearly the whole game, so to not only withstand this pressure & give away only a few goals, but to also be able to score 8 goals of our own was very pleasing.
After the 1st period we led 3-0, but OLS scored after just 17 seconds at the start of the 2nd period and again at the very end of this period. This meant that we began the 3rd period at 4-2 & still had a lot of work to do to secure the win. The final score of 8-3 probably does not reflect how close the game was, with our defence were under pressure for the entire game & OLS playing very strongly.
Tuija Salminen, Jonna Kettunen & Heli Haapasalmi combined extremely well to be involved in the scoring 6 of our goals. Maiju Kinnunen, playing against her old club, showed great strength in defence as well as scoring her first goal for SB Vantaa. Several good saves from goalkeeper, Krista Laine, helped to keep our lead in the game and in the end we came away with the 2 points.
